May Day Assembly / Lesson Presentation

(0)
Includes May Day presentation with a wealth of information about the festival. Also included is a reading sheet, plus instructions on how to make your own may day pole. There are some links to YouTube videos within the 16 slide presentation. I would recommend that you check these first as sometimes videos can change or become unavailable over time (the videos are not linked straight within the presentation, so if you choose not to use the videos that will work fine).

Designed for KS3 but easily modified to deliver to KS2 or KS4. After recent events, it is more important than ever for our students to respect both themselves and each other. This is more than just discipline and liking other people. This is about respecting difference and diversity in every context that we encounter. This assembly helps you to deliver just that.

Fully resourced ice breaker games. Use these to help students introduce themselves to each other (and to you). There are 9 activities, some need no preparation, others need cards to be printed. You are free to pick and choose, but of course you can contact me for support if you need it. In order to use the App you would need to organise a set of iPad (or let student use or share iPhone or iPod as avaliable), but it is not essential to be used for the lesson.

Personal thinking test - tutor time!

(0)
Personal thinking test - run through with your tutor group to see their results! I would recommend this for Late KS3, KS4 and above (although you could try it with younger students). So give out Personal thinking test, and get the students to answer the questions one by one. They then add uptake results. For fun they can then plot it on the grid (PersonalThinking.pdf). They can see which personality type they skew to. They explain the differences from PersonalThinkingTest.docx of give the students the sheet to read.

Stuck with your tutor group for an extra hour because...reasons...? Have a last lesson planned, run it and the students love it. Then suddenly Christmas lunch is cancelled and you see the same group again? Students demand that you have a 'fun' lesson but you just...well...didn't plan it? Here is a set of ideas that are just pick up and go. Really. Just give yourself 5 minutes before the lesson and have a Merry Christmas one and all.
